Dynamic formation of self-organizing maps
=========================================
Below, we provide the scripts used to generate the illustrations of
the article "Dynamic formation of self-organizing maps"
- To generate the illustrations Fig1, 2 (a), (b), use the script
:download:`wsom_fig1.py
<../_static/Simulations/SomDNF/wsom_fig1.py>`.
- To generate the illustrations Fig3 use the script
:download:`wsom_fig3.py
<../_static/Simulations/SomDNF/wsom_fig3.py>` and
:download:`distributions.py
<../_static/Simulations/SomDNF/distributions.py>`. If you want to
see a video of the self-organization of the neural field on a ring
distribution, you can use the script
:download:`wsom_ring_animation.py
<../_static/Simulations/SomDNF/wsom_ring_animation.py>`
- To generate the illustrations Fig4 use the script
:download:`wsom_fig4.py
<../_static/Simulations/SomDNF/wsom_fig4.py>`. If you want to
generate a video, change the parameter generate_video to True in
the script. Be aware that a huge bunch of images will be created. I
then put them together to get a video.
Below are videos of the neural field self-organizing on the ring
distribution and on the rotating bar experiment. On the video for the
rotating bar, the stimulus is displayed in the middle. The prototypes
are shown aligned on a circle, remember the units are connected on a
ring.
